CEE Bill - Petition
The science is clear: we are in a climate emergency. UK government and local councils have declared it. But where is the action? Where is the emergency response?
For years we put our trust in politicians to do the right thing, do the best for our communities and protect our children. But they are doing literally nothing to preserve the planet for future generations. Young people, like myself are waking up, and we will not let you trample over our future. Far flung carbon reduction targets, empty words and endless promises mean nothing without action.
The Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill can change our course- making the government act with the urgency we need, involving everyday people in a citizen’s assembly. If the CEE Bill is made law, the government would have to act fast, accounting for our entire carbon footprint while actively conserving nature here and overseas.
We are asking Stephen Morgan and Penny Mordaunt to support the CEE Bill in parliament on 26th March, when it is tabled for the second time by Brighton MP Caroline Lucas.
We are asking Portsmouth City Councillors to forward a motion to support the bill.
The bill has currently been supported by 93 MPs and 12 MP Co-sponsors.
More information about the bill can be found here: https://www.ceebill.uk/
We need urgent action right here, right now, it’s already too late.
Thank you for taking time to read and support this,
